*** Not available for commissions ***

I am currently editor of The Project Manager, bi-monthly magazine of the Australian Institute of Project Management, and senior staff writer on Dynamic Business magazine. Part-time, I also study for the Certificate IV in Small Business Management to better understand the Dynamic Business readership. Due to demands on my time, I am unable to accept commissions at the moment.

I am a fluent interviewer and a solid researcher who respects deadlines. My strength is my ability to write clear, accurate and concise copy in an engaging manner, which allows me to communicate complex concepts to general readers.

I am interested in health, education and environmental issues, but I am a versatile writer whose portfolio includes business, travel, technology, arts, music and fashion. In addition to writing articles, I am also proficient at writing web content, profiles, reviews and business documents.

Current pitch

Working title: Sideways

Premise: The side effects of some medications can be as bad as the condition they are designed to treat. What can patients do to educate themselves about what to expect from their medication? Due to the renewed interest in mental health, I chose to focus on some of the side effects of antidepressants. The angle is about awareness and education with regard to medication; this is not a doom and gloom article as I do not want anyone to stop taking their medication arbitrarily.

Research: Australian Bureau of Statistics, ABC TV: Four Corners: 'Hazards of the Happy Pill', ABC Radio National: All in the Mind: 'The Antidepressants Debate: Depressed, Bothered or Bewildered?' (featuring UK psychiatrist Dr David Healy and Dr Ian Hickie, Executive Director of the Brain and Mind Research Institute), Zoloft Consumer Medicine Information

Interviews: Rebekah Beddoe (author 'Dying for a Cure'), Dr Jon Juredini (Head of Psychological Medicine at the Women's and Children's Hospital in Adelaide), Dr Louise Canny (medical representative Pfizer Australia)

Word count: 1200 words + 100 word breakout box
